Foam Final Project

My original thought was to do one yin-yang but I then tried to do three. One has colorful beads, the next had watercolors dripping. The last is a normal yin-yang. This is by far my best work.

Three of a kind

This project I predict will be my best. My plan is sisterhood. I've created three like females but different all at the same time. My piece will show that we're all alike and the should be no segregation between us, just unity.

We also had to do a three of a kind with plaster. I was in the Christmas cheer so I decided to make plaster Christmas Trees. This is my final product...

Star Man

Hand sculpting is something I am really not good at but I try my best. My first attempt at the star man wasn't the greatest. I feel like I needed more practice because the body parts were very disproportionate.
My second attempt at the star man was way better than the first. On my second try I fell like I needed to work on making the body parts more realistic.

Found Object Project

For my project, I'm deciding to make a paper sculpture of a Ferris wheel which is odd because I'm scared of Ferris wheels. My original plan is to apcreate a Ferris wheel that stands tall on its own with different colored carts but I'm sure the plan will change along the way...

Planning stage:
Following through with my plan, I came up with this...
My first step was the riding baskets
Then, I worked on creating the wheel and the standing post. I ended up with my final product which is crooked but I tried my best and it came out great.

Plaster Mold

We used our original rubber molds and pours plaster on top of them to make plater molds of the shoe.
My end result is....
My mood didn't have enough plaster so it ran thin and broke as a finished product but I had to keep the pieces together. After, we painted the plaster in oil to show definition. The mold itself is darker than the outside. There's different color value in the mold. Under different lighting, you can see it all.

Hand Sculpting

We each started off with a shoe print and rubber slab. This project was more about reliefs and outcome prints. Once I completely with my word, I ended up with this as a final product.
In the beginning, I did a few test runs on how satisfied I was with my work. I didn't have to do too many because I was fine with what I had.
After the test runs, you started your final prints.
In the picture above are my final prints. The top four are normal prints with one color and no relief. The second one on the bottom is a double run. It's the same painted slab but 2 colors overlapping. The remaining 3 are reliefs with two colors. The original prints were one color and then I went in after and took some rubber off the slab so that when I painted over, it was just the shoe that was colored and that's a double run as well.

I was very pleased with myself and my work. This was definitely a "beginners luck" project for me because I don't usually have things work out well straight from the beginning.

Relief Sculpture

For my relief sculpture, I used social media. I figured on my own behalf that social media is a calmer, it takes me away from reality and focuses more on other chaos making me realize that my life isn't so crazy. This might sound bad but I'm just being honest. I sketched out the app icons that I use most which were Vine, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram.
Once I hand built the clay into what I wanted it to look like, the clay was fired in the kiln. After, I painted my piece. I assume that the clay in the middle was too thin because when I came out of the kiln the piece has a crack through the middle. This made me look at if from a different aspect. I finished my piece completely and now it means the chaotic social media is my relief not just social media in general. I purposely painted the crack red to symbolize the chaoticness.
